Marco Cingolani. Atelier du Peintre

On June 5, 2024, the artist Marco Cingolani will present his artist's studio for the first time, an anthology of works, colors, tools, and sources of inspiration that tell the story of his art. The exhibition Atelier du peintre, promoted by Galleria Gaburro, will be open to the public from June 6 to September 15, 2024, at its location on Via Cerva 25 in Milan.

"I want to show you what I need to paint my pictures; which objects, pigments, brushes, pastels, show you where I sit and where I will have you sit. I want to show you the faces of my best friends, often dead for decades, sometimes centuries, or fortunately still alive: when I paint, I think of them and I want you to know them," said Marco Cingolani.

The exhibition, curated by Studio Cingolani, features 23 works from different years, which usually surround the Como painter in his studio on Via Moscova in Milan, both for personal pleasure and for inspiration. It is a place where the works are allowed to "mature," "age" like wine. But that's not all. In the Milanese spaces of Galleria Gaburro, there will also be colors and brushes of all kinds, as well as Cingolani's work table, a large rolling bench ideal for moving around the studio. The exhibition aims to recreate the heterogeneous and polyphonic structure of the artist's studio. For this reason, three giant photographs of the atelier have been created and installed on the right-hand walls of Galleria Gaburro, which will feature both retouched paparazzo photos and biographical theaters, as well as small anthology and memorable works of the artist.

The atelier is a private place that thus becomes public through the works, staging the painter's obsessions and vices, essential material for producing the virtue of art.
